102 million tons! my country's first large deep-water oil field discovered

News on March 8, according to reports, CNOOC recently announced that my country's first deep-water oil field - Kaiping South Oilfield - was discovered in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, with proven oil and gas geological reserves of 102 million tons of oil equivalent.
This is the largest oil field independently discovered by my country in the deep water field.
Experts said that the discovery of the Kaiping South Oilfield has broken the situation where there has been no large-scale discovery in deep-water crude oil exploration in my country.
The Kaiping South Oilfield is located about 300 kilometers southwest of Shenzhen City, with a maximum water depth of 532 meters and a maximum well depth of 4,831 meters.
The main oil-bearing formations are the Paleogene Zhuhai Formation, Enping Formation and Wenchang Formation, and the oil properties are light crude oil.
The discovery well encountered an oil and gas layer of 100.6 meters, and the average daily oil and gas production in the test exceeded 1,000 tons, setting a new record for my country's deep water and deep oil and gas test production.
It is reported that in the field of offshore oil and gas exploration, sea areas with a water depth of more than 300 meters are generally called deep water, and wells with a depth of more than 3,500 meters are defined as deep wells.
