Energy production in April, solar power generation ranked first in growth!

On May 16, the National Bureau of Statistics announced energy production in April 2022! Electricity production turned from increase to decrease. In April, power generation was 608.6 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year decrease of 4.3% and an increase of 0.2% in the previous month. The average daily power generation was 20.29 billion kilowatt-hours. From January to April, power generation reached 2.6 trillion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 1.3%.
In terms of types, in April, the decline in thermal power expanded, the growth rates of hydropower, nuclear power, and wind power slowed down to varying degrees, and the growth rate of solar power accelerated. Among them, thermal power decreased by 11.8% year-on-year, a decline that was 6.1 percentage points larger than the previous month; hydropower increased by 17.4%, a growth rate that was 2.4 percentage points slower than the previous month; nuclear power increased by 0.9%, a 1.3 percentage point slower than the previous month; wind power increased by 14.5% %, 9.3 percentage points slower than the previous month; solar power generation increased by 24.9%, 8.1 percentage points faster than the previous month.
According to data from the National Energy Administration, my country's photovoltaic installed capacity continued to grow rapidly in the first quarter of 2022, with 13.2GW of newly installed capacity, a year-on-year increase of 148%. Among them, distributed photovoltaics accounted for 8.87GW, accounting for more than 67%.
